The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona stores the personal data of those who express an interest in the Institute's activities, participate in programs, events, courses, workshops, lectures, and other educational activities conducted by the Institute, enter into a partnership or collaboration with the Institute, and those who give financial support to the Institute.

 

The personal data that is stored is limited to the information necessary for the Institute to carry out its activities and communicate current and future activities. Personal data is not shared with third parties except in instances specified in this document. The purpose of gathering personal data at the Institute is to facilitate education, collaboration, and communication, as well as to manage the obligations of the Institute has in regard to the documentation and reporting required by certain funders.

 

What data is stored and how will we use it?

The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona stores names, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses to contact individuals and provide information regarding events, courses, programs, lectures, and all other activities that the Institute offers.

For students and alumni, the Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona also stores biographical data on fields of work, location, and professional interests to tailor opportunities and facilitate cooperation between students in the same field or region. The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona is also obligated to report certain information to receive grants that fund educational programming.

The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona shares necessary information with those responsible for allowing access to our premises.

Application information is received through Google Forms and then stored locally at The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona.

Contact data is also stored when you sign up for our email list.

Sometimes we take pictures of functions and activities for documentation, reporting, and to post on our social media channels. As a participant, you could occasionally be in one of those pictures, but you may tell us when photographing or filming is taking place that you would not like to be photographed or recorded.

In order to ensure that participants and staff have access to safe, reliable, and flexible IT services needed to offer a well-functioning education administration, The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona has a contract with Google Forms, who acts as a Personal Data subsidiary on behalf of the Institute. In order to assure that your personal data is handled according to data protection regulations and with the intent that is given in this consent policy, we work with only serious parties and have a personal data subsidiary contract which fulfills the requirements in the data protection regulations.

 

Elimination of information

Application information is erased 18 months after the start of the program, event, or course.

You have the right to request copies of your personal data.

You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
